College Hockey America announces 2002-03 Academic All-CHA Team

College Hockey America announced its 2002-2003 Academic All-Conference Team. To earn CHA All-Academic Team honors, student-athletes must meet the following criteria: 1) have completed one year of residency at their present institution prior to the current academic year; 2) have a grade-point average of at least 3.00 (4.00 scale) for the previous two semesters, or have an overall GPA of at least 3.00 for all terms at their present institution; 3) have competed in at least 50 percent of their institution’s varsity intercollegiate games during the current season (excluding goaltenders).

Bemidji State University set the CHA record with 16 selections this season, followed by the University of Findlay and Niagara University with 10 each. Wayne State University had eight honorees, while the University of Alabama-Huntsville had seven and Air Force three. An all-time high 54 student-athletes were honored this year, including 30 repeat selections.
