Air Force freshman Theo Zacour has been named the College Hockey America rookie of the week for the second time this season while Niagara senior Joe Tallari and Bemidji State freshman Layne Sedevie are being honored for the first time this season for their efforts over the weekend.

Last season’s league MVP scored four points as Niagara split its two-game series with Bemidji State over the weekend. Tallari had two goals, including the game winner, and an assist in Friday’s 6-3 victory and chipped in with an assist in Saturday’s 3-2 loss. After scoring just one goal and six points in his first 15 games this season following a preseason injury, Tallari has scored five goals and eight points in his last six games.

Layne Sedevie, Bemidji State, Freshman, Goalie, Bismarck, N.D.
For the second consecutive week the CHA defensive player of the week is a Bemidji State Beaver as Sedevie is honored by the league for the first time in his career. Friday, Sedevie was tagged with the loss in a 6-3 defeat at Niagara. He entered the game less than 12 minutes into the contest and stopped 26 of the 28 shots he faced. His 17-save effort Saturday gave the Beavers their first-ever victory at Niagara and enabled them to regain sole possession of first place in the CHA.

Zacour earns his second CHA rookie of the week honor after scoring a pair goals while recording seven shots on goal in the Falcons’ series split with Wayne State. In Friday’s 5-2 victory, Zacour scored a pair of power-play goals and notched the game-winner, pacing the Falcon offense. The two-goal effort was the first multiple-goal game of his career and his four goals and seven points in CHA games leads Air Force.
