Mercyhurst junior Desi Clark and freshman Michelle Bonello have earned College Hockey America Women’s weekly awards again this week while Findlay freshman Denelle Maguet earned her first honor of the season.
Offensive Player of the Week
Denelle Maguet, Findlay, Freshman, Forward, Ste. Rose, Alberta
Maguet earned her first CHAW award after scoring both of her team’s goals in a 4-2 loss to No. 8/9 Princeton. In doing so, Maguet tied for the league lead in rookie goal scoring (7) and moved into 10th nationally in points per game for freshmen (0.81). She totalled six shots on goal for the weekend.

Clark earned her fourth defensive player of the week award this season by posting her fifth shutout of the season in Mercyhurst’s scoreless tie at No. 2 Dartmouth. In the process, she stopped 27 shots and now ranks second nationally in goals against average (1.17) and third in save percentage (.947).

Michelle Bonello, Mercyhurst, Freshman, Defense, Mississauga, Ontario
Bonelle was named the league’s rookie of the week for the third time this season after anchoring a Laker defensive unit that limited No. 2 Dartmouth to just 26 shots on goal Sunday in a scoreless tie. Mercyhurst was also successful in killing all nine Big Green power plays while shutting down an offense that entered the game averaging 4.8 goals per game and had not been shutout at home in nearly four years.
