Bemidji State junior forward Brendan Cook, Wayne State sophomore goalie Matt Kelly and Air Force freshman Theo Zacour have earned player of the week honors for their efforts over the weekend.

Offensive Player of the Week
Brendan Cook, Bemidji State, Junior, Forward, Reston, Manitoba
Cook’s first career hat trick, the 199th in Bemidji State history and first by a forward in the team’s Division I era, proved to be the difference in the Beavers’ 5-2 victory Sunday, completing a two-game series sweep of Wayne State. In the win, Cook scored goals even-strength, short handed and on the power play. He was also credited with the game-winning goal and tallied 12 shots and a +2 plus/minus rating on the weekend.

Defensive Player of the Week
Matt Kelly, Wayne State, Sophomore, Goalie, Hull, Mass.
Kelly set career highs in saves for the second and third games in a row in the Warriors’ two losses at
Bemidji State, stopping 95 of 108 shot on the weekend. After setting a career high with 45 saves in his last outing, Kelly stopped 20 first-period shots Friday en route to a 47-save performance in a 3-2 loss. He had another 20-save first period Saturday on his way to a
career-best 48 saves in a 5-2 loss. In nine starts this season, Kelly has topped the 40-save mark four times.

Rookie of the Week
Theo Zacour, Air Force, Freshman, Forward, Oslo, Norway
After being shutout in Friday’s 1-1 tie at Findlay, Zacour tallied three points in the Falcons’ 5-2 win Saturday, ending the team’s 20-game league winless streak. His two assists and three points were career bests and was his first career multiple-point game. He also had a +4 rating on the weekend.
