Mercyhurst junior Desi Clark earned her third CHA Defensive Player of the Week Award while freshmen Hailey Clarkson, of Findlay, and Kerri-Lynn O’Hara, of Niagara, were also honored for the efforts last week.
Offensive Player of the Week

Clarkson had a hand in all five of Findlay’s five goals over the weekend and grabbed a share of the league scoring lead. The Oiler rookie set up the team’s only goal in Tuesday’s 3-1 loss to Bemidji State. She then turned in a career-best four-point effort in Wednesday’s 4-2 victory. She set up the game’s first goal and also picked up an assist on the goal which tied the game in the third period. Her power-play goal turned out to be the game winner and she added a short-handed goal to seal the victory.

Clark capped off the weekend by stopping 15 shots in the third period, tallying 30 saves in all, in a 3-0 victory Saturday at St. Cloud State. A day earlier, she had stopped 18 of 20 shots in a 3-1 loss to the Huskies and needed to make 15 stops in the first two periods of the Laker victory as they battled through two scoreless periods. The shutout was her fourth of the season.

Kerri-Lynn O’Hara, Niagara, Freshman, Defense, Napanee, Ontario
O’Hara’s second-period goal Sunday gave Niagara it’s only lead of the weekend and was the first of her career. The goal was also the first scored by a Purple Eagle defensemen since the opening game of the season. On the weekend, O’Hara had a +1 plus/minus rating and tallied a pair of shots on goal.
