Mercyhurst junior Teresa Marchese-Del Monte earned College Hockey America offenisve player of the week honors for the second consecutive week while freshman teammate Julia Colizza and Niagara freshman Allison Rutledge were also honored for their efforts over the weekend.

Offensive Player of the Week
Teresa Marchese-Del Monte, Mercyhurst, Junior, Forward, Brampton, Ontario
The league’s scoring leader extended her point-scoring streak to four games, including a league seasonhigh four points in Saturday’s 5-0 victory. Marchese-Del Monte recorded five points in Mercyhurst’s series sweep of Colgate, while recording 11 shots on goal. Three of her five points came on the power play as the Lakers converted four of 11 power-play chances.
Other nominees: Katie Gray, Niagara; Jessica Haydahl, Wayne State.

Defensive Player of the Week
Allison Rutledge, Niagara, Freshman, Goalie, London, Ontario
Niagara played No. 3 Harvard to a 1-1 tie through two periods Sunday, before dropping a 3-1 decision, due in large part to Rutledge’s effort in goal. After missing Saturday’s 4-0 loss due to a disqualification penalty last weekend, Rutledge returned to the lineup and stopped 50 shots, including a second-period breakaway by Crimson All-American and Olympic gold-medalist defenseman Angela Ruggiero. Rutledge stopped 32 of 33 shots through the first 40 minutes Sunday and Harvard needed 20 third period shots to score twice to snap the 1-1 tie.
Other nominees: Desi Clark, Mercyhurst; Tina Thibideau, Wayne State.

Rookie of the Week
Julia Colizza, Mercyhurst, Freshman, Forward, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario
The league’s youngest player, Colizza scored her first two collegiate goals in Saturday’s 5-0 win over Colgate, recording six shots on goal and a +3 plus/minus rating in the process. Although she did not score Sunday, she recorded five shots on goal, giving her a team-high 11 for the weekend.
Other nominees: Katie Gary, Niagara.
