CHA names Players of the Week

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Niagara forward Valerie Hall earned CHA Offensive Player of the Week. Hall, from Niagara Falls, Ontario, set the all-time leading scoring record Sunday afternoon with her two goals and one assist in the teams 6-3 loss against conference rival Mercyhurst. Hall currently leads the team in points with 34. She is also leading the conference in points. Hall’s first assist of the afternoon was her 136th career point. Her three points mover her to 138, three ahead of Brooke Bradburn with four regular season games remaining. Hall took the intial shot that created a rebound for Teresa Marchese-Del Monte for Niagara’s first goal of the game.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mercyhurst goalie, Desi Clark earned CHA Defensive Player of the Week. Clark, from Salmo, BC, stopped 30 of 33 shots (.909) as Mercyhurst turned back Niagara 6-3 Sunday, February 16, in Erie. Clark improved her overall record to 8-2-0 and her conference mark to 3-0-0.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Mercyhurst forward Samantha Shirley earned CHA Rookie of the Week. Shirley, from Mississauga, Ontario, scored Mercyhurst's first goal of the game and had five shots in Sunday's 6-3 win over Niagara. Her goal was her team-leading fifth power play goal of the season. She is second on the team in goals (13) and is tied for third in points with 22.
