CHA names Players of the Week

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Wayne State forward Katie Jones earned CHA Offensive Player of the Week. Jones, from Squamish, B.C, scored the gamewinning goal in Friday’s win at Northeastern and also assisted on WSU’s second goal of the game.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Wayne State goalie, Anna VanderMarliere earned CHA Defensive Player of the Week. VanderMarliere, from St. Clair Shores, Michigan, recorded back-to-back shutouts as WSU blanked Northeastern 2-0 each game in Boston. She made 67 saves (37 on Friday and 30 on Saturday) in the first road sweep in school history. VanderMarliere stopped 23 or 27 in last Wednesday’s 5-4 league win over visiting Findlay.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Wayne State wing Emily McGrath-Agg earned CHA Rookie of the Week. McGrath-Agg, from New Westminster, B.C., scored an insurance goal in Friday’s 2-0 win at Northeastern, and added the game-winning goal plus an assist in Saturday’s victory.
