OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Niagara Univresity forward Valerie Hall earned CHA Offensive
Player of the Week. Hall, from Niagara Falls, Ontario,
had four points this weekend in Niagara’s two
wins over the Maine Black Bears. In Saturday’s
game Hall had two assists and in Sunday’s game
had one goal and one assist. Hall was plus three on
the weekend and
had a combined five shots on goal.
With the four points this weekend Hall has tied Niagara’s
all-time point scoring record at Niagara.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Wayne State defender, Anna VanderMarliere earned CHA
Defensive Player of the Week. VanderMarliere, from
St. Clair Shores, Michigan, made 28 saves on Friday
to record
her fourth career shutout. In the 2-0 victory at Vermont,
she made
14 of her stops in the decisive third period. ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Mercyhurst College forward Samantha Shirley earned
CHA Rookie of the Week. Shirley, from Mississauga,
Ontario,
scored her team-leading fourth game-winning goal of
the season in the second period Saturday as Mercyhurst
won
a first-ever
meeting with Ohio State 2-1. It was her second game-winner
in the last three games. Shirley is second on the team
in goals
with 11 and tied for second in points with 19. |
