CHA announces weekly player awards

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mercyhurst College forward K.C. Gallo earned CHA Offensive Player of the Week. Gallo, from Sudbury, Ontario, had a threepoint game against Cornell Sunday, January 19, in a 4-0 win as the Lady Lakers stretched their winning streak to nine and their unbeaten streak to 10. Gallo scored the first goal of the game, a power play goal in the first period. It was her second goal of the season and second game-winner. She also assisted on Mercyhurst's third and fourth goals. The goal was her only shot of the game. She entered play Sunday with just two points (1g, 1a) in 21 games.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Findlay University goalie, Jessica Moffat earned CHA Defensive Player of the Week.. Moffat, from Moose Creek, Ontario, played both games finishing with a 1-1 record. She stopped 20 of 21 in Saturday's 3-1 win over Colgate. She stopped 16 of 18 in Sunday's 2-0 loss to the Raiders. She finished the week stopping 36 of 39 Colgate shots.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Mercyhurst College forward Samantha Shirley earned CHA Rookie of the Week. Shirley, from Mississauga, Ontario, scored the first two goals of the game, one on a power play, in Saturday's 4-1 win at Cornell. She totaled three shots in the game and was a +1. Shirley is tied for second on the team with ten goals and leads the team in game-winners (3) and power play goals (4)
