CHA Players of the Week

CHA announces weekly player awards

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mercyhurst College forward C.J. Ireland earned CHA Offensive Player of the Week. Ireland, from Alliston, Ontario, scored her second career hat trick including game-winning goal in 5-0 win over Vermont on January 3. Scored game-winning goal and added two assists in 6-1 win on January 4. The game-winners were the first two of the season. The hat trick was her first since a three-goal effort against Wisconsin Superior in her freshman year. Ireland totaled 11 shots and was a +6 for the weekend sweep.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mercyhurst College defender, Jenn Jeffrey earned CHA Defensive Player of the Week. Jeffrey, from Zurich, Ontario, had two assists in a 5-0 win over Vermont on January 3. She had 9 shots and was a +5. Jeffrey didn’t score in the 6-1 win but had 5 shots and was even. Jeffrey was part of a defense that limited the Catamounts to 14 shots in two games.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Mercyhurst College defender Danielle Lansing earned CHA Rookie of the Week. Lansing, from Red Deer, Alberta, totaled 8 shots and was a +5 in the two game sweep. Lansing was a +4 in Friday’s 5-0 win.
