| OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Niagara University forward Valerie Hall earned CHA
Offensive Player of the Week. Hall from Niagara Falls, Ontario,
had one assist in Friday night 2-1 win over Wayne State in
conference play. She assisted Candice Ceelen’s game-winning
goal. On Sunday in non-conference action, Hall scored a short-handed
goal for the Purple Eagles and added an assist in Niagara’s
6-0 win over Boston College. Hall was a +3 on the weekend.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
University of Findlay goaltender Jessica Moffat earned
CHA Defensive Player of the Week. Moffat from Maxville, Ontario,
continued her torrid start to the season with an impressive
performance in Sunday's 3-0 loss to 10th ranked Mercyhurst.
Moffat stopped 32 of 34 Mercyhurst shots (one empty-net goal)
in the Oilers loss. She was a perfect 28-of 28 in the first
two periods as the two teams were scoreless heading to the
third period. For the weekend, Moffat stopped 34 of 38 Mercyhurst
shots for an .895 save percentage. They were the first goals
Moffat had allowed all season
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Mercyhurst College defender Danielle Lansing earned
the CHA Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week.
Lansing from Red Deer, Alberta, had two goals and an assist
in Friday's 7-1 win at home against the Oilers. One of them
was her first career power play goal. Lansing then scored
the game-winning goal early in the third period Sunday. It
was her second career gamewinner. All of Lansing's seven points
have come in the last four games: five goals and two assists.
She has a four-game goal scoring streak. For the two games
she totaled three goals, one assist, six shots, and was a
+2.
