CHA Players of the Week

Bresciani, Wiggins, Munroe, Cook earn CHA Player of the Week honors

University of Alabama-Huntsville forward Joel Bresciani and Air Force Academy forward Ryan Wiggins shared CHA Offensive Player of the Week honors this week, while Charger netminder Scott Munroe garnered CHA Defensive Player of the Week accolades. Air Force defenseman Steve Cook was named CHA Rookie of the Week, marking his first CHA honor. Bresciani and Wiggins are two-time award winners, while Munroe earned his fourth weekly honor.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bresciani, a 6-0, 200-pound senior from Sherwood Park, Alberta, helped the Chargers to a series sweep of league rival Wayne State by netting a four-point weekend. He tallied two goals in an 8-2 win and a pair of assists in a 4-0 victory.

Wiggins, a 5-11, 175-pound sophomore from Alamo, Calif., paced the Falcons to a series sweep over Quinnipiac, the first place team in the MAAC. He recorded a goal and an assist in each game, including the game-winning goal at 3:39 of the third period Friday. He was a +3 for the series.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Munroe, a 6-2, 195-pound goaltender from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, posted his first career shutout after stopping all 31 Warrior shots Saturday. The shutout was also the first for UAH in over a year. Munroe is 7-0-1 in CHA games.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Cook, a 6-0, 175-pound forward from Morrison, Colo., tallied a goal and two assists in the Falcons 6-2 victory over MAAC-leading Quinnipiac Saturday. One of his helpers came on the game-winning goal.

Honorable Mention Performance
Niagara’s Rob Bonk recorded 27 saves in a shutout of Findlay, 6-0, Friday. Findlay netminder Jamie VandeSpyker posted a .924 save percentage vs. Niagara last week, including Saturday’s game when he stopped 39-of-40 shots for the 1-1 tie. Alabama-Huntsville goaltender Mark Byrne tallied 38 saves in an 8-2 victory over Wayne State. UAH rookie Bruce Mulherin scored his first collegiate goal Sunday vs. Wayne State--a shorthander which was the game winner. Bemidji State forward Brendan Cook tallied an assist each night at Nebraska-Omaha. BSU forwards Myles Kuharski and Riley Riddell each tallied two points vs. UNO.
