Jason Durbin earned CHA Offensive Player of the Week honors
this week, while Warrior netminder David Guerrera garnered
CHA Defensive Player of the Week accolades. WSU defenseman
Greg Poupard was named CHA Rookie of the Week, marking his
first
CHA honor. Durbin is a three-time award winner and
Guerrera earned his fifth weekly honor.
OFFENSIVE
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Durbin, a 5-11, 183-pound senior from Trenton, Mich., had four
points in the Warriors’ sweep of Bemidji State. He tallied
an assist in Friday’s 4-2 victory and recorded his second
career hat trick Saturday in a 6-1 win. DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF
THE WEEK
Guerrera, a 5-11, 185-pound senior goaltender from St. Leonard,
Quebec, posted back-to-back victories over Bemidji State as
he stopped 51-of-54 shots over the weekend for a .944 save
percentage.
In Saturday’s 6-1 win, the lone Beaver goal
came on the power play. ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Poupard, a 6-2, 200-pound defenseman from Jackson, Mich.,
was part of the Warrior penalty-kill unit that stopped

Beaver power plays last weekend. Honorable Mention Performance
Bemidji State’s duo of Brendan
Cook and Wade Chiodo each scored a goal to give BSU a 1-0 lead
each night at Wayne State
last week, but the Warriors rallied for the weekend sweep. |
