Bemidji State University forward
Marty Goulet earned CHA Offensive Player of the Week honors
this week, while University of Alabama-Huntsville netminder
Mark Byrne garnered CHA Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
Bemidji State University forward Ryan Huddy was named CHA Rookie
of the Week, marking his first CHA honor.
Goulet is a three-time award winner and Byrne earned his fifth
weekly
honor.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Goulet, a 5-11, 185-pound senior from Banff, Alberta, helped
the Beavers to a three-point weekend vs. Findlay after notching
four points and stretching his scoring streak to a career-long
seven games. He scored two goals and added an assist in Friday’s
5-1 victory and assisted on the game-tying goal in Saturday’s
2-2 result.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Byrne, a 5-10, 170-pound senior goaltender from Nepean,
Ontario, stopped 31-of-32 shots in a 3-1 win at Air Force Saturday.
He helped the Chargers hold the Falcons scoreless on eight
power plays. ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Huddy, a 5-10, 180-pound forward from Stony Plain, Alberta,
scored a goal each night vs. Findlay last week, including the
Beavers’ first
goal in a 2-2 draw Saturday. Honorable
Mention Performance
Niagara senior Bernie Sigrist tallied a three-point
weekend vs. Wayne State, scoring both NU goals Saturday. Wayne
State senior Marc St. Jean tallied two goals and was a +5 for
the
weekend vs. Niagara. Air Force junior Mike Polidor recorded
a .918 save percentage last week vs. Alabama-Huntsville,
the highest scoring offense in the CHA. Findlay senior Jason
Maxwell scored two of Findlay's three goals over the weekend. |
