Kingston earned CHA Offensive Player of the Week honors this
week, while teammate David Guerrera garnered CHA Defensive
Player of the Week accolades. Bemidji State University forward
Myles Kuharski was named CHA Rookie of the Week, marking
his first CHA honor. Kingston is a two-time award winner
and Guerrera earned his fourth weekly honor.
Offensive Player
of the Week
Kingston, a 6-1, 190-pound senior from Spencerville, Ontario,
helped the Warriors to a 2-1 record last week, including
a weekend sweep of CHA rival Findlay, 4-3, 3-0. Kingston
tallied
the game-winning goals in both victories over the Oilers.
He also scored a power-play goal in a loss to Bowling Green,
3-4,
and added an assist on a late insurance goal Saturday vs.
Findlay.
Defensive Player of the Week
Guerrera, a 5-11, 185-pound senior goaltender from St.
Leonard, Quebec, posted his first shutout of the season
after stopping
all 45 Findlay shots Saturday. He also stopped 28-of-31
Friday and had a weekend save percentage of .961, stopping
73-of-76
shots faced. Rookie of the Week
Kuharski, a 5-11, 185-pound forward from Neepawa, Manitoba,
recorded back-to-back multi-point games as he helped the
Beavers to a weekend sweep over Air Force, 4-2, 5-3.
He tallied a goal
and an assist each night and was a +3 for the series. Honorable
Mention Performance
Niagara junior Chris Welch scored a five-point (3g-2a) weekend
vs. Canusius. Bemidji State senior Jeff McGill tallied two
goals and two assists vs. Air Force. Air Force senior Andy
Berg recorded his nation-leading 14th power play goal of
the season vs. Bemidji State. Findlay rookie Andrew Radzak
scored
two of Findlay's three goals over the weekend. |
