of Alabama-Huntsville forward Jared Ross earned CHA Offensive
Player of the Week honors this week, while Niagara University
netminder Rob Bonk garnered CHA Defensive Player of the Week
accolades. University
of Alabama-Huntsville freshman goalie Scott Munroe was named
CHA Rookie of the Week, marking his third CHA honor.
Ross is a four-time award winner and Bonk earned his eighth
weekly honor.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ross, a 5-9, 165-pound sophomore from Huntsville, Ala.,
helped the Chargers to a weekend sweep over Bemidji State
by scoring
the game-tying goal Friday to force overtime. He also added
four
assists. The Chargers are now unbeaten in 13 straight
games. DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bonk, a 6-4, 195-pound junior goaltender from Fenton, Mich.,
returned to the net for the first time since Nov. 8 and picked
up both wins over Findlay last week, including his first
shutout of the year Saturday. ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Munroe, a 6-2, 195-pound goaltender from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan,
posted a 1.21 GAA in a weekend sweep of Bemidji State. He
stopped 31-of-33 shots Thursday and added 13 saves in
relief Friday
to preserve both victories. Honorable Mention
Performance
Niagara University junior Joe Tallari scored a five-point
weekend in a sweep of Findlay. Bemidji State sophomore Riley
Riddell
tallied two goals and an assist at UAH. Air Force senior
Andy Berg
recorded his nation-leading 13th power play goal of the
season vs. Army. |
