| University of Alabama-Huntsville forward
Mike Funk earned CHA Offensive Player of the Week honors this
week, while Wayne State University goaltender Matt Kelly garnered
CHA Defensive Player of the Week accolades. University of
Findlay freshman Andrew Radzak was named CHA Rookie of the
Week, marking his second CHA honor. Funk and Kelly earned
CHA honors for the first time as well.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Funk, a 6-4, 225-pound junior from Newton, Manitoba,
helped the Chargers earn three points last week in a conference
series vs. Niagara. He scored a pair of goals in a 7-4 win
Sunday, including the game-winner. He added a goal in the
3-3 tie on Saturday.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kelly, a 5-10, 170-pound freshman goaltender from
Hull, Mass., stopped 25-of-27 Michigan Tech shots to earn
a victory in his collegiate debut. He stopped all 14 third-period
shots to help the Warriors rally from a 2-1 deficit for a
4-2 win.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Radzak, a 6-2, 190-pound freshman from Elmhurst,
Ill., tallied three power-play goals in a pair of victories
over Holy Cross last week, including the game winner in Friday’s
5-2 win.
Honorable Mention Performance
University of Findlay goaltender Kevin Fines earned
back-to-back victories last week over Holy Cross, stopping
57-of-60 shots faced. University of Ala.-Huntsville freshman
Jeremy Schreiber totaled three points in a win over Niagara
Sunday. Wayne State University senior Dusty Kingston totaled
four points last weekend in a split with Michigan Tech. Niagara
University duo Joe Tallari and Barret Ehgoetz each recorded
four point weekends vs. Ala.-Huntsville.
