| Wayne State University forward Jack Redwood
earned CHA Offensive Player of the Week honors this week,
while Air Force Academy defenseman Steve Mead garnered CHA
Defensive Player of the Week accolades. Bemidji State University
sophomore Peter Jonsson was named CHA Rookie of the Week,
marking his first CHA honor. Redwood earned CHA honors for
the third time in his career, while Mead was a first time
CHA award winner.
Offensive Player of the Week
Redwood, a 5-9, 180-pound senior from Trenton, Mich.,
helped the Warriors extend their nation-best unbeaten streak
to 14 games with a sweep over St. Lawrence last week. Rerdwood
tallied the game-winning goal both nights and finished the
weekend with three goals and an assist.
Defensive Player of the Week
Mead, a 5-9, 175-pound sophomore from Warminster, Pa., helped
the Falcons to a weekend sweep over Bentley with a five-point
series. Mead tallied a career-best three points in game one
vs. Bentley, including a power play goal in the second period.
He added two assists in Saturday's win.
Rookie of the Week
Jonsson, a 5-10, 190-pound sophomore defenseman from Astorp,
Sweden, totaled three assists in a weekend series vs. Union.
